Yes he’s lying of course. But the media (this goes for all media) has normalized lies, laughs at them, and rarely follows up with live fact-checking. The media has a lot of culpability, and the consequence will be the end of democracy and stability.

If they “didn’t see it”, then they are willfully ignoring the biggest story of that particular day. It’s not every day that all the generals in the world are called into the Pentagon and the president speaks to them. So them ignoring it (if that’s true) is worse than their excusing it. Incompetence.

I don’t know if it’s a bribe. More like extortion that was paid. Either way, an arrow in the heart of the 1st Amendment, freedom of the Press, and a free media.

You don’t wake up one day and the news says that democracy is over. Democracy ends by people allowing it to be chipped away slowly without opposition. Lies, denigrating the media, corruption, pardoning criminals, etc. it’s the frog in the water slowly cooking.
And the water is getting hotter!

This can be directly tied to the hatred fostered by the WH administration.

There is only one time in our history that there wasn’t a peaceful transfer of power. It happened 4 years ago with a disgraced president.
