That is my feeling too, but to create a business case and to sell the upfront cost to both people above you and the developers around you is a challenge!

One thing i like about rust is moving all the checks and balances earlier in the dev cycle. However, this probably makes it take longer to get code to production.

I wonder if there is a good way to measure the difference in effort to make the decision less subjective.

I’ve interviewed a lot of victims stayed in an abusive relationship because they worried their loved ones would judge them for not leaving sooner. They needed support and they knew they would get ridicule instead.

And that’s something I’m thinking about a lot in this political environment.
