2/2 Now in my 60s (just) I have rediscovered the sheer pleasure of writing and formulating ideas on a page without the stigma of being untidy (others opinions). Thank you to the authors I know and @katyashman.bsky.social for making it all possible.

a page of writing, not particularly neat, but it works for me.

1/2 I have always had a ‘problem’ writing, I am left-handed, was known as Spider when writing band parts out, so when I set out on my BSc(Open) 35 years ago I abandoned writing and went all PC (MSDoS 3 or so) crazy. The technology took over..

They are superior to all others. Like the y**k with a backpack on a crowded Malpensa express oblivious to whose face he shoved it into. Didn’t get the sarcasm when I leant heavily on it and then in best “Officer English” claimed not to have seen him! The locals smiled widely as we disembarked.

Yes the Wagnerian influences are all over the orchestration and harmonic structures the composer having assisted the Maestro for the Premiere of Parsifal. I have played both the original full orchestration of the overture and the reduced “pit” version of the complete production. I’ll get my coat .

Remembering Nicolò Coccon born #OTD in Venice. Not one of the most well remembered or celebrated Maestri di cappella at San Marco, but he was prominent in the musical life of Venice into the late 1890s. In 1903 at his funeral in San Trovaso, one of his own settings of the Requiem Mass was performed.
