I don’t listen to him enough to know, but just tossing out that someone is a danger (with a menacing tone) and then moving along with no explanation is a terrible way to communicate. Tim’s blindspot is 2020 riots, never mentioning the well documented right wing destruction & violence & incitement.

Frum seems to cling more tightly to label fear mongering about “dem socialists” or “woke” - cryptically warns Mamdani is a danger & whines abt AOC - giving no explanations why. If you fear control over markets or corruption or ??, speak on that, don’t just give empty vague warnings with no basis.

I wish we could erase the old labels and start fresh with policy because when Tim’s “conservative,” is not evangelical authoritarian. He wants conserve liberalism. The US founding ideas that all people deserve freedom, right to protest, representation in gov’t, equal justice, etc. Opposite of maga.

It’s a good question. The labels people use in the US are treated total unchanging truths, yet they mean completely different things to different people: socialist, conservative, Christian, liberal. What he calls conservative & what you call liberal may be extremely close to the same philosophy.
