Me to Paul Newman’s family at the funeral: may his memory be a dressing

"we need a candidate who can reach Black and Latino voters"

"OK, here's a guy who's open and authentic about the faith he shares with huge numbers of those voters and how that shapes their shared politics"

"well not like THAT obviously"

yesssssssss, YES

you're really gonna put Everclear, Dishwalla and Goo Goo Dolls on one bill and not bother to give the Gin Blossoms a call? smh

guess they just didn't grovel hard enough

absolutely incredible company being kept here

If it's on the boombox I'm outside
If I'm outside the weather's nice
If the weather's nice it's the Lemonheads

Story time, y'all, about the time I witnessed nearly this exact scenario play out in real time.

It's 2003 or 2004. Serena, Venus, Anna Kournikova, and Brenda Shultz-McCarthy played an indoor exhibition event at Rupp Arena.

Both Williams sisters had won majors at this point. 🧡/x

The meme where Juventus's managers are Moe throwing McKennie-as-Barney out the door, and McKennie just keeps reappearing behind them so many times they had to give him the bag

02.03.2026 21:18 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

...and especially in such Just Plain Ignoramoose fashion.

I would just dearly like the Committee to make it so we can handwave *all* of this away in the future

2. the Miami AD appears to be responding to BP's interview with Barstool, which...asking for objectivity there is like asking the squirrels to leave your feeder alone.

To be clear, Pearl deserves the crap he's taking, he's capable of talking Auburn up without shitting on Miami ...

02.03.2026 18:36 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's absolutely fair. But would say 1. for me the fault there lies more w/ TNT, b/c Bruce is gonna do what Bruce does (and what I think a lot of power-conference coaches in his current position would do, tbh) ...

02.03.2026 18:31 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Blaming Bruce for taking up for a team his son coaches, made up of players he recruited, that represents a school who still signs his paychecks is extremely silly.

Unfortunately, arguing for a team that's 50th in WAB over the team in 26th is every bit just as silly

02.03.2026 18:14 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

begging the Committee to select the field based strictly, solely, 100% on WAB and liberate us from this obsolete flimflammery

Think it's worth considering complaints on "Magic City Night"--assuming they're out there--from thoughtful Atlanta residents and Hawks ticket holders who understand the, uh, local cultural significance in play here

do not think it's worth considering a complaint from Luke freaking Kornet

02.03.2026 17:55 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Vandy grad from Kentucky who's never played for an NBA team closer than San Antonio has thoughts about what's appropriate for Atlanta, huh

02.03.2026 17:48 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

*27 names, wtf

02.03.2026 02:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Ah crap right lol.

It's honestly just too hard an ask once you start really thinking about it, top-10 list that needs like 27 messages on it

02.03.2026 02:14 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

this sport rules so hard and I'm so glad more and more folks seem to recognize it

That's exactly it--was runner-up in Doha 2019 and no has touched her since, even though Bol and Muhammad were/are both all-timers themselves

gonna feel like a hipster out-of-left-field suggestion but if she does in LA what she did in Tokyo and Paris think Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is in this convo

all this plus the de facto WRs in both the 400 hurdles and 400 flat? silly

"Goin' out on top, baby" John Shuster says (probably *just* about Plys and Hufman, probably) after winning yet another national title

whatta dude, can't wait for one last ride for this four at Worlds

Think Opurum would've been a help, raw as he is. So little rim protection once he went out. Which is why I assume whatever medical issue prompted them to declare him out for the season in December had to have been serious

01.03.2026 23:31 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Such a shame. CBM leaving Auburn felt like a lose-lose proposition on the day it happened--he needed some degree of stability, Auburn needed his all-around talent.

Hope things get better for him

01.03.2026 23:12 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

you'd think Steven's contract would have made where Cohen stood pretty clear!

01.03.2026 22:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Agree wholeheartedly

01.03.2026 22:35 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

think Auburn almost certainly would've been better off w/ a real coaching search, yup

also don't think there was ever any realistic chance of that happening at any point after the second F4 run tbh

01.03.2026 22:05 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

yeeeeaaaaah, I won't defend playing Muschalek over Magwood, and think my biggest complaint w/ SP is that some of these disciplinary decisions have felt too emphatically "I'll show you I'm in charge here"

but ultimately that's not what's wrecked the season IMHO. It's that the players aren't good

01.03.2026 22:02 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

He's not. But I'm skeptical anyone would have been, especially given the timing of the appointment. Honestly think they've overachieved massively on offense, this could've easily been a 12-17 kind of season
