On 2025/02/24 a 2nd, larger proton event started ~22 UT, exceeding the S1 level (37.1 pfu).
It was caused by the big CME associated with an M3.9 flare, peaking at 23:02UT. As this video shows, the flare was again from behind the limb. It was likely X-class if observed on disk.

running difference images of the far-side (~30Β° behind-the-limb) eruption on 2024/11/21. It was a big eruption, dominated by the counterclockwise propagation over the limb, which indicates interactions of the wave with coronal structures.
