I’ve had two novels and two children’s books published so far, all in Scots. I write about subjects including poverty, dreams and, of course, the supernatural.

I was also lucky enough to get a place on Moniack Mhor’s spring residency program in the Highlands and that’s where the book will hopefully be finished.

I can’t think of anywhere better to write my wee animal stories than on a remote farm and croft!

I’m awfae excited to start my third children’s book, ‘The Puddock Wioot A Pond’, this week!

I’m heading to a Portuguese farm filled with puddocks (frogs) to get it started on Sunday.

I had a braw first author event of the year at a Scottish college!

It definitely showcased why Scots and real-world, gritty books, in particular, matter. Language and stories are all about connecting with the world around you, past and present.

This was a much-needed boost as I know that I’ve risked it for a biscuit by moving back to Scotland to put the books first.

Hopefully time will show me that it was the right decision!

It’s also a big win for @luathpress.bsky.social as publishing is a team effort!

I went into Waterstones to check if my books were in stock and I couldn’t find them. A bookseller asked if he could help and told me that they weren’t there because they’ve been ‘flying out’.

They only had one left. I could have cried with happiness! 🥹
