Venture capitalists are responsible for some of this. So are previous owners of WHS for how they ran the business. Changes in reading habits amongst the public too. But IMIO this is especially bad news because it will reduce the presence of books on the high street, books as a fact of everyday life.

Got a load of fellas with no followers, lecturing me like I'm some newbie art school graduate that hasn't lived as a professional & international illustrator for almost 20 years or been promoting on socials since the start of MySpace.

Not exactly making the positive case for social media, chaps.
