I'm not certain but it surely affects many other countries that have dual citizenship with the UK.
I'm going to say that's some large group of people.
Looks like trips to the US and the UK are now no no's.

I wasn’t planning on renewing my UK passport cuz I have a perfectly good Canadian one, but this new rule also means I guess I’m not visiting the UK again.
I’m not sure the UK government thought this one through.

Yes I certainly can renew it. However sometimes it's the principle. I find it more than ironic that a non citizen can enter a country that I am a citizen of with the same document that will in fact deny me entry. Interesting, yes ?

Now if you are a dual citizen you have to enter the UK with a current UK passport. Or renounce citizenship or apply for a 1000 pound document, can't remember its name sorry, old brain. I lived the first 45 years of my life there. Doesn't make me feel good.

Sadly decided that I will never again visit the UK. I was born there 77 years ago but can't return now on my Canadian passport. Luckily my neighbour that was born in Canada will be able to visit on his CA passport. Good idea UK gov. Will visit Europe instead I guess.Can anyone tell me why ???

Hard disagree. If someone needs care they should get it. Healthcare isn’t some exclusive club. I’d rather my tax dollars go to help a tourist get stitches than Galen Weston get another tax break or some oil and gas company get a subsidy.
