Of course fossil fuel companies get a multitude of other subsidies but shows you how weird the NZ Govt is when it is outspending Trump on subsidising climate destruction on this metric. Higher taxes, more pollution, more expensive electricity. Trump and Luxon.

Luxon Govt subsidy to fossil fuel companies is 12 TIMES HIGHER per person than Trump's subsidy. Trump subsidy is US$625m to coal - NZ$1070m. Luxon subsidy is (at least) NZ$200m to oil and gas exploration. 5.2m people in NZ and 347m in US. Trump subsidy NZ$3 per person; Luxon NZ$38 per person.
