I think that the nature of their content being so easy and not special is why we managed to shun them so quickly, some people who did way worse things are still around and sometimes even more popular, unfortunately.

Yeah Shayy filled the niche of "easy to engage" youtuber which is like extremely rare in the utdr space, promoting fangames is a good part of the process but in the end that was it, nothing special just something easy for people to pass the time with.
