Potential Trump housing change could hinder Sacramento’s homelessness efforts “We’re going to have to come together in ways we never have before,” said the CEO of the organization that coordinates homelessness funding.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

White words on a black background read:

50+
Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

As a disabled army vet, I get my care through the Mather VA in Sac.

They just told me I couldn’t get my Flu or COVID shots.

One of the nurses said this was due to RFK Jr.’s new CDC guidance.

Are you having issues getting your vaccines at the VA?

Rodrick Johnson, 67, is one of many residents who were detained by federal agents during the South Shore raid. A U.S. citizen, he said agents broke through his door and dragged him out in zip ties.

Johnson said he was left tied up outside the building for nearly three hours before agents finally let him go.

“I asked [agents] why they were holding me if I was an American citizen, and they said I had to wait until they looked me up,” Jones said. “I asked if they had a warrant, and I asked for a lawyer. They never brought one.”

What DHS pulled in Chicago on Tuesday is wildly unconstitutional. They smashed down almost every door in the building, dragged entire families into the street, and detained people for hours ("Kavanaugh stops").

Ms. Fisher was held for five hours and another senior citizen was held for three hours.

So Gavin Newsom has three pro-trans bills on his desk right now waiting for him to sign: SB 418, SB 497, and SB 59. One allows hormone scripts for a year’s supply. The second bill protects medical records from subpoena and doxxing. The third bill would seal people’s legal name and gender changes, preventing the release of deadnames and other transition details to the public. Call during business hours 9am - 5pm urging him to sign this critical legislation. 916-445-2841

Call to action: Governor Newsom has 3 bills for healthcare for trans people on his desk: SB 418, SB 497, & SB 59. One allows hormone scripts for a years supply. The second bill protests medical records from subpoena & doxxing. The third would seal trans people’s legal name & gender changes

I have to wonder why one would go into a public space if they disliked other people so much. Why not stay home where you’re better able to control your environment to exactly your preferences?

I'm struggling to contain my anger over the government's handling of the ICE shooting in Dallas - specifically, the refusal to publicly identify three human beings who were killed or seriously wounded

These monsters do everything possible to dehumanize refugees. We can't let them get away with it

I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

While you are correct that support needs vary between individuals, you’re misunderstanding what “the spectrum” is (very common misunderstanding). It refers to changing needs *within* an individual. The rest of your comment could be seen as pathologizing things that don’t need to be.

Calling someone tone deaf in a discussion about autism 🤦

22.09.2025 22:52 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

And when a national database is currently to being made to track autistic people who are also contending with increasing pressure on state governments to restrict their legal and medical autonomy for the sole reason of being autistic, your really doesn’t land how you hope it will.

22.09.2025 22:50 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Saying something is more than something else is not saying the other thing doesn’t exist. Seems pretty logical to me that if autism weren’t “bad”, no one would care what caused it, & pregnant folks wouldn’t be a target for it in the 1st place. Also, those demographic groups regularly overlap.

22.09.2025 22:47 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I don’t see how you got “sowing wedges” between pregnant and autistic people from what I said.

I wish this post also included the fact that there’s nothing wrong with having a different neurotype, such as autism. Pathologizing autistic people exacerbates existing harms they’re already struggling with (like discrimination or being denied legal personal autonomy *because of* that diagnosis).

Seems to me the more causal issue is the villainizing and pathologizing of autistic people.
