This is bad for Ukrainians in Alaska.
Also, it's laughable that Bernie Karl is aghast at this happening.

On November 9, 2025, at 11:24am, Alaska State Troopers received a report of a 38-year-old male that had been shot with a shotgun and was transported to a local hospital in Kodiak in stable condition. Investigation determined that he placed his shotgun in the bed of his pickup on top of another firearm and ultimately caused a loaded shotgun to negligently discharge striking him in the groin area. There is no suspicion of foul play.
A guy in Kodiak shot himself in the groin after attempting to stack a loaded shotgun on top of another gun. Genius.
11.11.2025 06:38 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0We simply can't open new charter schools when we are closing schools without barriers. Charter schools cost money that could be used to improve our schools.
I am against opening any charter until we have a mechanism to close charter schools before closing real public schools.
I think the Pearl Creek parents are going to litigate regardless.
The Two Rivers proposal is better idea and it fits a need more than Pearl Creek. I would recommend against approving any charter at this time as they are still a sink on our budget.
Mayor Hopkins is cool with this lease apparently because his kid will go to Pearl Creek if it re-opens as a charter.
This is why political dynasties, even if they are just borough mayor, are dumb.

Mayor Grier Hopkins is relying on the Pearl Creek charter's appeal to be successful. He plans on locking the borough into a long term lease that has yet to be negotiated to save his neighborhood school that he attended as a kid.

Why isn't JD Vance mad at courts for not halting any execution?
He is deep in the MAGA stew these days. He's fried.
The only question I have about him is will he slowly peter out or flame out in a scandal.
Dan Sullivanโs choice for Alaska District Court Judge is disbarred, the sex pest Joshua Kindred.
Now Dan Sullivan is picking more Alaska District Court nominees in a secret process that doesnโt include Lisa Murkowski.
We are losing the sandwich race.
There's italian subs, croque monsieurs, tortas, even hamburgers!
Unless we pivot to improving our own sandwich arsenal we will be over run with gyros and falafel before we know it.

If we put corrections and state troopers at 2016 levels we could spend 148 million more on education every year.

Cut corrections and state troopers.
Fund teachers and schools.
