Actually past time to start on a path to get off oil. Right now we are headed in the opposite direction with Trump pushing oil and gas.

And here in Winnipeg we could do it to but our administration lacks the courage and fear the 4 year election cycle. Its past time for @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social to do what is right for the city and not for their reelection. Other cities/countries have already charted the way, follow it.

Lets not forget that the pilot project that was the basis for this report spent a couple of years studying traffic speeds and consulting citizens and did not come to the conclusion that matches what many studies and many countries experience had already figured out. 30 kph is where we need to go.

And here we are in Winnipeg with our latest report from Public Works recommending 40 kph. Its a half measure and not the truly safe speed. Its on the agenda for Public Works Committee this Wednesday. Register to delegate or send comments telling them that 30 kph is the safe speed. t.ly/iMOq1

Good idea as I have scrapped skin on them in the past. Another tip, carry a few zip ties with you as part of your tools. Just like duct tape they are often a great temporary fix.

Reducing residential speed limit meaningless without enforcement. Most of this is true, however the 40 kph speed limit, regardless of whether drivers comply, does not represent a truly "safe" speed. The science is clear on this, 30 kph is the safe speed. 40 kph is just a compromise. t.ly/eHq0e
