This might be one of the clearest graphs I've seen for the reasons behind why rich people should donate their surplus income to poor people.
I donate 10% of my income each month to @give-directly.bsky.social and @givingwhatwecan.bsky.social π
I'm able to live normally on the remaining funds.

We don't have to sit back and just watch the horror unfold
This month, I signed a pledge to donate at least 10% of my lifetime income to effective charities.
I signed the 10% Giving Pledge this year, and this week, I decided to donate 19% of my annual income to global health charities.
It's not going to be anywhere near "enough", but I'm happy to do it --

We think that @dylanmatt.bsky.social's response in @vox.com was right on:
"Maybe when the bednets crew amounts to more than 0.18 percent of giving, itβll be worth asking if weβve gone too far. But if the question is really Notre Dame versus dying kids, there is only one right answer"

I've finally taken the @givingwhatwecan.bsky.social 10% pledge, backdated to when I first started giving in 2019! I'm a huge believer in the power of effective giving to improve the world, and I think the pledge is a great tool for both committing and spreading the word!
