Had to watch a recap YT vid last night because I don’t have three hours to spare to rewatch before seeing the third 😭

I know that policy example is pretty much a past Greens one, but parties that know they’ll need each other to form govt should be announcing joint policies or endorsing each other’s so folks see what’s possible if they vote for that instead of thinking “Labour will just veto everything progressive.”

e.g. abolish welfare & replace it with a UBI/minimum income funded by a wealth tax to safeguard against AI.

I do not feel confident about Labour’s election strategy at all. Activate the left and unenrolled voters with bold lifechanging policy, don’t ride the centre and play it safe trying to appeal to landlords and National voters. The latter is what collapsed Labour’s majority last time. #nzpol

Policies that energise & excite left & working class voters. Hope is contagious. e.g. abolish our conditional & shame-based welfare system & replace it with UBI, or supporting 🟩’s minimum income from taxing corps & wealthy.

If AI continues to erode job security, some form of UBI will be vital.

If you get a chance with Chippy, please sound the alarm 🚨 on Labour Chippying around the edges too much & appealing to no one. They’ll need big swing blockbuster policies that aren’t focused on trying to drag Nats/centrist voters towards them (which failed with the Dems hugging Cheneys in America).

Yes @chewienz.bsky.social totally agree with your take on AI!! It’s gonna crash and take most of the US economy with it, there is no path to profit and it’s far too unregulated. And the environmental damage. Most of this VC money will get spent on lawsuit payouts for plagiarism or other harm done.
