Dude, if you have an older PC, why not try running Linux on it? Outside of some multiplayer games, gaming on Linux is quite viable.

Agreed on everything you've said, but I think MS would have gone down this route regardless of who's running the country. I've never been so glad to be a Linux user in my life.

God, I'm so glad that I mainly use Linux now. No Microsoft Account nonsense, and no AI nonsense. If it wasn't for my day job and my programming background, I would have already uninstalled Windows completely from my PC.

Yeah, this is really bad. I run a Linux-focused gaming YouTube channel, so this has me very concerned, especially since I do make tutorials using emulators. This is why I don't even touch anything Nintendo related for emulation.

This is really terrible. Making local profiles on Windows isn't "promoting harm or illegal actions". YouTube needs to get its act together.

And then, there's the fact that the DE's (I'll mainly be focusing on Cinnamon) mainly just support x11. In my experience, most games work a bit better under Wayland. Two of my games (Cold Steel 1 & 2) are a nightmare to get working in x11 but a breeze to get working in Wayland.

Well, since it's Debian/Ubuntu based, the kernel won't be as up-to-date. The three main DE's (desktop experiences) for Mint doesn't support multiple monitors very well, such as not being able to mirror and extend the desktop at the same time. You can only have the taskbar on one monitor.

That's a huge bummer. I get that you probably need Netflix for your job, but for me, I'm trying to move away from all streaming services.

While I'm not into the Corpse Party games, this is pretty lame of Nintendo. They did the same thing with Death end re;Quest Code Z and the Neptunia Re;Birth Trilogy. Nintendo, you got to stop being lame.

I really feel bad for COD fans. Seeing a once pretty good franchise succumb to so many issues. If it's not the generative AI, it's the deeply flawed singleplayer or it's the constant internet requirement.

I do want to let you know there are certain things you should know about Mint. It's not the most ideal for gaming, but the reasons are quite technical.

It's quite sad that more triple A publishers are recklessly embracing AI for game development.

None of this makes any sense. Why wouldn't you add the ability to pause a single player campaign? Why no checkpoints? And why a constant internet connection requirement? I think if you implement a draconian requirement, you should at least explain why.

I do like the controller. Hopefully, it won't be too expensive.
