Prominent climate scientist argues it's time to ditch the 'myth of neutrality' | CBC Radio Climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe talks to Bob McDonald about the polarization of science and why she thinks scientists should stop pretending to be neutral when it's our planet at risk.

β€œScientists should stop trying to be neutral and instead embrace their values,”says a group of top climate scientists, including @katharinehayhoe.com. The neutrality myth is harming the reputation of science right when we need it most.” #ClimateCrisis

Science isn’t neutral. It’s science.

New analysis: 0.25% of 2025 Bluesky posts contained citations to research...while only 0.000006% of X/Twitter posts did.

In raw numbers, X still has 2x the research-based posts that Bluesky does (though they are harder to find): but it took Twitter 10 years to get there vs just 2 years for Bluesky

Globally, 80% of people want their countries to take stronger climate action, and over half think about climate change daily or weekly.

Far from being split, humanity is largely united on wanting to do more.

But how can we help move the needle? Find out: go.wri.org/climate-choi...

I'm goign to be radical here and suggest people listen to scientists instead of billionaires when it comes to what we should do about the ever-worsening climate crisis.

Covid was a wasted opportunity. During lockdown the climate of earth drastically improved, outdated work practices were uprooted & people had time for their own lives. It's a shame none of that continued.

Jane Goodall's final lesson Honoring Jane Goodall's life, Pope Leo's first climate address, and finding hope in action

This week, we lost one of the world’s greatest advocates for people and nature. Even in her final days, Dr. Jane Goodall was urging us not to give up, and now her legacy lives on through the countless voices she inspired.

EPA eliminates research and development office, begins layoffs The Environmental Protection Agency said Friday it is eliminating its research and development arm and reducing agency staff by thousands of employees.

The EPA has eliminated its research division, which for decades has provided the science behind regulations on clean air, clean water, and toxic chemicals.

The US can afford to monitor, research, and regulate the impacts of industries on human and environmental health. We are just choosing not to.

Being Too Helpful At Work Can Hurt Your Careerβ€”Here’s How To Say No Women are more likely to take on behind-the-scenes duties at workβ€”extra tasks like onboarding or event planningβ€”and it's hurting their careers. Here's how to say no.

In a study of professors, women got 378 new work requests over 4 weeks vs 118 for men. Women spent more time on service, advising & teaching; men on research. Orgs should track who is taking extra duties & ensure they are rewarded and distributed fairly. www.forbes.com/sites/kimels...

There will come a day when complaints about the carbon tax will seem quaint compared to the increase in property damage and insurance costs associated with more common extreme weather events. You may dodge a bullet but your insurance rates have to cover those who didn't.

β€œthis sounds like an excellent idea, except for one detail: There are insufficient funds for those of us who are already here.”
