The Democrats are a failed party. I do not think either party should exist at this point. I would be happy if two new parties arose to counter both the Dems and the GOP. The GOP is a party of abusers, the Dems are enablers, and this dynamic has been in place for the entire 21st century. The Democratic leadership is behaving no differently than they did before, which is the problem. It is the level of threat that has changed: failed democracy became fledgling fascism became an autocratic mafia state, and all the while, Dems collaborated with internal enemies and continue to protect them. Their refusal to focus on election integrity — a problem which dates back decades! — and instead fundraise off our fear is a key example of their failure.

The kids at Dilley were drawing pictures of the horrendous conditions they’re being subjected to in the ICE camps.

They were documenting atrocities.

They were ensuring a historical record.

So the regime took their crayons away from them.

Last time I was overseas, I was visiting friends in Denmark. I remember riding bikes and realizing that if I got hit I'd just go to the hospital and not become homeless over it. Back home I just don't ride my bike anymore for fear of the cost when a huge suburban tank runs me over.

It’s one thing to encounter this in Texas, which is about the same area as France.

But this sentiment is common and vehemently defended in Rhode Island, which is….not the size of France.

People around here proudly have bumper stickers reading “I never leave Rhode Island,” and they mean it.

Next move: “we need 40% of the city budget to protect ourselves from snowballs”
