Light leaks show up red on regular c41 because they’re hitting the back of the film first and filtering through the red layer. Since redscale is already backwards, you’ll likely have white light leaks.

Gotta give Harmon Red (and any Redscale film) like 3 or 4 more stops than it’s rated. Very hard to overexpose, you just get more color filtering through the red layer. Your night shots look great!

Do you ever shoot on film? A negative like this would have a lot of possibilities with darkroom prints

I have also pushed Santa to 400 with mixed results, if you really want to do that the shots it worked best on were the outdoor ones

Also it has a very thin base so I want to try cross processing it with a cyan filter, I think it could actually make very good slides!

Thanks! SantaColor (and other identical respools) is my favorite color film right now. It can handle under exposure slightly better than other c41, so don’t let the weather hold you back too much!

Some labs scan it very red, but it’s definitely possible to get more neutral tones from it.

Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

The other, placed by Bluesky, indicates Sexually Suggestive content that does not include nudity.

@moderation.bsky.app - please fix this! Any time I post art and I apply the non-sexual nudity label, it gets a sexually suggestive label too that I need to appeal.

The cleaned up line work based on the previous sketch. Where the sketch indicated rougher ideas, thoughts have been fully fleshed out in line work that will serve for the final piece. The most dramatic example of this is a detailed rapier held in the character’s left hand, which was just indicated by a line before.
