Jens-Frederik Nielsen should “be ashamed,” says the U.S. special envoy
The United States’ special envoy to Greenland, Jeff Landry, is now directing sharp criticism at Greenland’s head of government, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
In a post on the social media platform X, Landry writes directly that Jens-Frederik Nielsen “should be ashamed” after he yesterday rejected President Donald Trump’s proposal to send an American hospital ship to Greenland.
Landry writes that many Greenlandic towns lack basic healthcare services, and that, according to him, a healthy Greenland is crucial to U.S. national security.
The statement comes after Jens-Frederik Nielsen emphasized that Greenland has a public healthcare system, and that decisions about Greenland are made in Greenland.
