Crochet version of the melt the ICE hat.

In the 1940’s, Norwegians made and wore red pointed hats with a tassel as a form of visual protest against Nazi occupation of their country. Within two years, the Nazis made these protest hats illegal and punishable by law to wear, make, or distribute. As purveyors of traditional craft, we felt it appropriate to revisit this design. All proceeds from the sale of this pattern go to the immigrant aid agencies who will distribute the funds to those impacted by the actions of ICE. Approximately 200 yards of RED yarn of your choice in fingering, DK, or Worsted weight. The sample shown was knit in Blue Sky Fibers Skyland for the DK version Suggested Needles Fingering weight yarn: US #4 / 3.5mm DK weight yarn: US #6 / 4mm Worsted weight yarn: US #8 / 5mm Notions Tapestry needle, scissors Errata Pattern has been updated to clarify how to do the decreases. There is now a crochet version of the hat available. Needle & Skein is a woman-owned small business, employing 4 individuals in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area. We appreciate your support of us in this endeavor.

I came across the Melt the ICE hat and purchased the crochet pattern for $5 from YarnCultMN on Ravelry.
If you would like a hat but don't know how to knit or crochet, I will crochet one for you for $5 and donate the money to immigrant aid agencies.

I did my #FandomTrumpsHate signup! Two podfics this year: one for k-pop (BTS, TWICE, or TXT), K-Pop Demon Hunters, or Heated Rivalry; one just BTS.

(I'm also doing a Heated Rivalry podfic for @iceouthr.bsky.social so that's three guaranteed podfics in a year! \o/)

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.
