U10’s football match today and some parents took umbrage to a few tackles from a young kid. One parent yelled to his son “if he does it again fucking hit him” then decides to tell the opposition manager “he’ll fucking knock him out” if he doesn’t sort it. Kids football ffs!!

Road racing in the U.K. is dire - a diet of closed circuit crits coupled with over regulation and a heaving road network. There’s no rational pathway from starting out to getting to the big races. It’s on life support and dying fast, sadly.

I remember seeing him as a junior, stepping up into the senior ranks, racing in Strathclyde Scotland. His smile, energy and enthusiasm was totally infectious (from memory he smashed everyone by the way) . One of the greatest triathletes ever.

Searching for tri related accounts on here and the number of people who list their PB’s in their bio’s …..it’s like listing your inside leg measurement. I don’t get it 🫣

If the most exciting thing you can say about yourself are your PB’s over various distances, be it running, triathlon, cycling or swimming. Have a think - you’re way better and more interesting than that, I promise.
