Most people donβt care about trans issues, which Labour have completely misunderstood. Itβs βdonβt careβ as in βlive & let liveβ. As you know, TERFs are a fringe bunch of nutters, they just have billionaire funding & get amplified by the media
An important couple of days in the calendar.
Yesterday, my first sighting of a Lapwing this year; followed by the first Oystercatcher and calling Curlews today.
The waders are back to breed in our corner of Bowland.

In an attempt to wet my filthy Ventile jacket, my wife has weighed it down in the bath with an upside-down, white, tubular, metal shower stool issued for her hip replacement.
I keep doing a double take, seeing a Boston Dynamics robo-dog drowning in the bathtub.
Too much time in this new dystopia.
If only it was as warm in reality as it looks on this beautiful photo.

The sky is grey and cold looking. The grass glows whitish, as if covered with snow, due to the infrared light.
Step stile. Pain Hill Farm, Slaidburn.

More than a shame IMHO.
As the Slaidburn Estate is in arrangements with English Heritage and the Inland Revenue to avoid taxes for preserving the said estate, IMO they should be made to reinstate such a heritage asset.
A step and squeeze stile in a limestone wall in verdant green grassland with trees.
A close-up of a squeeze stile where a gap of about 6" in a limestone drystone wall prevents sheep getting through but is wide enough for the walker's legs to pass. Noted Canadian master drystone waller, John Shaw-Rimmington stands behind.
Step and squeeze stile. Bell Sykes Farm, Slaidburn. Now thought to have been demolished and replaced with a gate to get a quad bike through.
Stewards of the countryside and all that.
Unfortunately the musical soundtrack seems to have deteriorated, but it remains my favourite film about letter-cutting in stone. Well worth a watch.

A wonderful film from the 1970s about the John Stevens Shop in Rhode Island. My career dream would have been an apprenticeship there.

Looks a bit strange to me.
Letter-cutters out there; hand-cut or stencil and sand-blasted?
After getting up before dawn for over a month I think sunrise in the hills is overrated. Not one decent dawn for me so far. Merely grey and dismal, unlike this beauty from Paula.
I must go down to the seas again...
Submerged trees during late afternoon at Nottinghamshire's Attenborough Nature Reserve, a wetland next to the river Trent. It is a riparian wetland, an important ecosystem connecting river and land.
Submerged tree at a connecting point between the river Trent and one of the lakes of Nottinghamshire's Attenborough Nature Reserve. I love the natural, almost symmetrical reflection!
