As we approach the 2026 tax season, I helped introduce the Taxpayer Protection and Preparer Proficiency Act. Our bill would prevent innocent taxpayers from being penalized for the mistakes of their tax preparer.

The Administration’s plan for drilling off the Central Coast violates federal, state, and local protections for our coastline. We must stand together to protect the beauty of our home.

With our push, we got them a passport appointment for that Monday, allowing them to fly back to the U.S. that Tuesday. When it comes to assisting constituents in our 19th Congressional District dealing with the federal government, I will continue to deliver results.

A family was traveling abroad when they realized that their son had lost his passport. They called me for assistance on a Friday, and we worked with the family and the U.S. Department of State through the weekend to provide their necessary documents.

Last month, a recently widowed constituent asked me for assistance after many failed attempts to secure her 2024 tax refund. I contacted the IRS and within one month, she received her check in the mail for nearly $9,000. If you're having trouble getting answers from the IRS, contact my office.

A local nonprofit contacted my office for help when they were missing four Employee Retention Credit payments from the IRS. I was able to step in and work with the agency to expedite the processing time of all four refunds, resulting in the nonprofit receiving a payment of over $100,000.
