I see regular folks trying brave things. And I see those w the most protection & most insulation mostly doing everything they can to bend the knee. Media companies, tech companies, most politicians—I did not think the bending of the knee would be this complete & this universal this quickly.

Democrats looking toward the midterms are foolish. It hasn't even been 3 weeks and Trump has destroyed critical components of the government. By the midterms, it will be too late.

The point is *all* films - whether consciously or not - are in some way necessarily "political" by default, just by virtue of being made in a specific culture at a specific time and in a specific place. There's no such thing as culturally (and thus politically) neutral filmmaking - its impossible.

Instead of giving us lip service, do something about the ongoing crises.
