Good article @laurajoycenz.bsky.social

If a medication has cardiac effects eg negative chronotropic/inotropic action, is it defined as a cardiac med even if that is not what it is being prescribed for? (eg propanolol used in mental health or migraine). These are some of the worse ODs I've seen

I'm unsure how you do it. But maybe figure out how to make your profile searchable if they search 'Dumb Runner' - it took me a while to find you and had to try a few things

β€˜Sworn at, spat on and threatened’: how drunks treat ED doctors A nurse being yelled at, an elderly woman being punched, a doctor being sexually harassed - these are just some of the experiences of ED staff dealing with alcohol-affected patients.

97.9% of ED staff have experienced alcohol-related aggression in the last year. Alcohol-related harm is preventable, we must make changes to make emergency departments safer for both staff and patients. www.thepress.co.nz/nz-news/3606... @firstdonoharm.bsky.social @emajournal.bsky.social

Enough is enough! 98% of ED staff have experienced alcohol-related violence and aggression. This is not a safe or acceptable environment for staff, patients and their whānau.

Arexvy - Immunisation Advisory Centre

Thank you for the reminder Ryan.
In NZ - unfunded but recommended for older adults with risk of severe disease eg thos with comorbidities

Be nice if the government looked at funding it for high risk groups (unlikely with the current government, but one can hope)

I don't really understand. Is a subscription different to a follow. What does a subscription entail. And what does it then give.

Interesting article. This raises many questions which can not be definitively answered by this study, but this is an important conversation to be had.

IMO, Metacognition and awareness of our cognitive biases can help address them longer term

This is also why we need to continue to push the government to adequately fund primary care so that GP care is accessible to patients

Happy to share an invited article I wrote looking at what
#EM in Australasia can learn from the #NHS for Emergency Medicine Australasia.

This was part of a discussion on the future of emergency care in Australasia in the EMA.
