Perhaps a misunderstanding. Not enough people talking about the underlying causes, which is what I’m trying to flag up.

Are you sure? Look at who funds Reform, and it’s no doubt similar with Trump. Fossil fuel interests sow division to minimise the chance of real climate action.

And people are being hit by high energy costs driven by high gas prices, and high food prices driven by extreme weather.

Thanks Sarah. We see this as an essential component. Rather than a sole event which will come and go, this will keep the issue on the agenda, bringing a diverse range of people together in each constituency to talk about it, and demand action.

An informed electorate can start to take the lead.

Perhaps, but it’s hard to see positive tipping points until they happen.

Our aim is to build strong constituency support for MPs to vote for emergency action.

A film of the event will be shown across the country early next year, with many thousands of showings expected, even in cathedrals.

The problem is that in the absence of Covid-style science briefings, disinformation has flourished. And much of the media won’t report the crisis unless there’s a new angle.

That’s why we’re launching this two stage process. A major event followed by national rollout of a film early next year.

Yes, that was part of the motivation behind doing this, but also expanding it out to leaders from business, culture, faith and the media.

We have a major program to encourage MP attendance and we’ll announce numbers in the next few weeks, giving offices the chance to RSVP post conference season.
