okay, i tore everything out, plugged all my cables back in, and made sure that my pc was grounded and separated my cables going into the retrotink as much as i could and it basically fixed everything with the audio. so far so good!

yeah it's audio buzz, i've actually never heard of a ground loop isolator before, but i think i understand how it would be added into my own setup if i bought one!

is there a specific one i should be looking for? i see a couple of different ones online

it's hard to pinpoint what my issue is, randomly i get a lot of buzz coming through when i use the 5X with my capture card. i still have to try some other stuff out but it's a huge pain in the ass. at least it goes away when i toggle the CC on/off. just blaming elgato at this point.
