The seam was sewn into the backing and then folded and tucked in and sewn several times over onto the eyelid!

Oh wow okay so it's only been a month since I started working with fur, maybe I should stop being so hard on myself :D

The fraying causes these... super visible indentations in the fur that I just cant stop looking at. I know a way to fix them but I am normally obsessive about 'perfection' so it's been humbling to have to just learn to say 'you know what? This is okay' for a change.

The material under the fur frays when I cut it and it took a while to figure out how to deal with that... I think if I had the time to go for round seven I would do so much better!

About two months ago I started working with fur for the first time... how hard could it be right? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! This is round six, it's much better than my first attempt to do spots but I am still kinda unhappy.

Nobody will even see it under the fluff... why did I put so much work into it? OCD... OCD is a slave driver D:

This... this... fiddly little fold of fur onto the foam sheet for the eyelid... this took more work than you would think to make it look nice at the seam... hnnngh

Trying to figure out how to add spots to the fur that are cute and tufty!

Okay I think I figured out a good stain to get the colour I want. AND the fur is still super soft. Win!

And this is where progress really starts to pick up! It's time to bring together everything I have taught myself the last two months and make the fur and details!

I just... couldn't stand the seams so... I remade this and third go around I came up with the minimal seamless design that would appease my OCD! I am very pleased with this one! :3

Today I spent a little time playing with ways to make the eyes. I'm pretty pleased with what I came up with so far using a half bauble, foam clay, a scalpel and the bottom of a small paint bottle to get the iris/pupil shape.

My first ever mask fur is going well I think! :3

Mask fur 1.0 for my first time ever working with fur like this I think it went very well :3 I am very sure (like the main mask base) I will actually end up remaking this... (hopefully not 14 times ha.) I'm a little annoyed about some ink staining, the seams can be picked out and evened out.

OKay the pieces are pinned with backing for easier sewing. Right side is blue penned, left side is purple penned :3
