It was exactly 9 years ago today that I first heard this song and it changed my life. Today seems a good day to share it with you. It might change yours. Enjoy.

In which people CHOOSE TO VOTE for a female plumber representing a party with broadly liberal values and an unelected life peer declares it to be the end of liberal democracy.

What this result signals, like a bell ringing out across the land, is that Britainβs slide towards fascism is NOT in fact inevitable, we CAN still choose a brighter path. Rejoice! All is not lost! β¨π«
Today is a good day π

26.02.2026 16:45 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Oh this is fun... π
26.02.2026 16:40 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Aye. I'm not sure I could drive there. Just way too stressful.
26.02.2026 13:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ha. They are trying to help businesses work in India. The government is encouraging collaboration following the Free Trade agreement.
26.02.2026 13:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'd definitely go back though.
26.02.2026 13:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah there is a hierarchy. Fortunately we were being guided by UK Embassy staff. We were quite high up the hierarchy!
26.02.2026 13:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Oh yeah it's certainly warm and this was one of the the coolest times of the year. I didn't see anyone in lycra!
26.02.2026 13:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Aye. Plenty of moped riders in particular riding the wrong way down the road. My Indian colleague told me that many people in India have a fatalist approach to life.
26.02.2026 13:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There were pollution issues, but it can vary. It didn't noticeably affect me, but I wasn't outside in the cities much. Certainly a lot of solar about and plenty of electric cars. Only saw a decent number of cyclists in Chandigarh though. It is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly.
26.02.2026 13:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The photo in the thread is from Kerela. Out of the cities it's not quite as bad, so I can imagine it's... Survivable... π
26.02.2026 13:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, the duvet is definitely safer! π
26.02.2026 13:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Driver, not duvet... although I'm so tired that's an appropriate autocorrect! Currently on the bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow.
26.02.2026 13:26 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nah. It's another level entirely.
26.02.2026 13:25 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My carbon footprint was very bad. Over 12 days I've been to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Trivandrum! I'm also bloody knackered!
26.02.2026 13:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You do get used to the constant use of the horn and the very, very close diving. π¬

Beautiful country though.
26.02.2026 13:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Every single duvet would get reported for close passes and mobile phone use. And before anyone suggests that's safe? It's not. Injury and death rates are high. I saw the aftermath of two serious crashes whilst I was there.
26.02.2026 13:20 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Has anyone noticed I've been quiet recently? Probably not! Anyway I've been in India. Lots of different parts of India for work. Fascinating country, but definitely one I would not cycle in! The driving is...π±
26.02.2026 13:17 β π 16 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Is Irish law similar to UK law in that there is careless and dangerous driving? If so, how was this only careless! π±
