Fun Plex in Omaha have announced a new coaster called Mammoth

It's just a small 40 foot tall Preston & Barbieri Anaconda... but when it opens it will be the only non-children's coaster in the entire state, which only has 4 coasters

IOA has a need for a big show like Bourne or Untrainable in the other UOR parks. Toon Lagoon Theater could check that box with a Wicked show (would need to enclose or rebuild that theater, though).

I remember when they built these, and raised eyebrows for “just swipe your credit card” what is essentially will call.

But think about all the hype from Wall Street these and other projects generated back in 2024 at D23! What could go wrong, announcing things ~5 years ahead of time?

I’m very confident Piston Peak and Villainsland will open on time, as historically the only things that have ever held up or cancelled projects at WDW were high gas prices, a sinking economy, or a war in the Middle East.

The Legoland Galacticoaster is GOTG Cosmic Rewind, but just a little shorter. You get to design your own ship and it has a 36" height requirement.

I was so confused last year, when they held everyone at the gate until the opening time (when it was still their “Spring Break” days).

Meanwhile, CGA AND Discovery Kingdom had me pass through and hang out for an hour inside at a rope drop area.

Works the same with with the "one shot" (single use) products, too. They probably sell more from guests who just got to the back of the line, than anything in advance.

At least from what I understood working at Universal, most guests don't pre-purchase virtual queue products like this. A lot of sales happen "on the spot" when lines are long. So this just speeds up transaction times for buying on a phone/using saved payment data, instead of going to a gift shop.

Disney once again loses by announcing things at D23, and letting all these internal changes go public. Never going to be as good as what they pitched on stage, or built-up in the minds of fans.

I'd also put the Waterworld stunt show in this bracket, too. (That's been cloned at Universal Japan, Beijing, Singapore) At this point, potentially more people closely associate the show with the park over the film, based on viewership alone?

In the way that Mr Toad's Wild Ride or Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros take film IP and are more remembered by casual audiences for a ride? I can see it. Plus there is a bit of a built-in existing fanbase, even if it's not an IP merchandised to death already.

Boo, but also making a point to chase Universal (either Potter, Dark Universe, or Berk, etc) is a pretty sorry state of affairs for Disney to be in.

The key paragraph here is that the tent pole attraction has to be an indoor one because they can't make enough money from upcharges reliably on an outdoor coaster because of the weather.

That is an awful awful awful way to think.
