and since I chose my first book I wasn’t surprised to cut as much as I did. I’m sure my pages will be drowning in even more red as time goes on. 😅

Overall, it's humbling being forced-via-prompt to critique my work with a sharper eye, while at the same time see how far I've come as a writer. 2/2

One thing I enjoy about reading more books on writing are the lessons that allow me to revisit my past (self-)published work, in this case Monster Boy & The Nightmare King, and learn from them.

This lesson in particular focused on crossing out words or phrases that felt like fluff, 1/2
