That’s the goal. You pay on it your whole life, and most of those payments are interest to the loan holder. Then you die and they still own your home and set up a 50yr mortgage with the next person.

The fact that a supposed business expert doesn’t understand the interest implications of extending a loan term an extra 20yrs is baffling.

The length of the mortgage isn’t the problem. The interest accrued during that time is. With a 30yr mortgage, you’re already paying for your house more than once. With a 50yr mortgage, you would pay significantly more, especially given that the interest compounds.
