Interesting to see the soil that’s covered with plant pot bases as part of the #BOFIN # Slimers slug trials. The effect of weathering in the outside bare areas allows the rain to run the clay particles together reducing surface aggregation and water/air movement

Double check. Linseed can be converted to a toxin during digestion. I think a small amount is ok. Similar to clover & bloat perhaps🀷 If they’re starving on entry and then penned in tight and forced to eat a lot quickly with nothing much else to help buffer?🀷

My first attempt at an alternate row under sown legume trial. The plan is to remove only the CC and stitch in a cereal crop next spring leaving the legumes intact.
Help from Anglian Water much appreciated

How do you get on grazing sheep on the linseed David? A grazier I heard of turned some lambs out on a cover crop with quite a lot of linseed and a load of them died😱

Variable- the very dry spell Aug-mid Sept and some late harvested crops hindered initial establishment. I’ve got cover crops that are half their normal size because they didn’t really get going until late September
