I can imagine, it's a wee connection to something real and natural. I get scolded by multiple generations of sparrows if I let the feeders run low. I love it for taking me away from the other stuff for a while. The Robin on the front deck is my company while I work.

Yep.. I find it strangely satisfying... and where I am, between hills and sea with a garden, although it's in town, it feels alive. Going through a lot of bird seed this winter though.. 😉

Yeah, there's an old building nearby where it roosts I think. When i put out seed for the ground feeders, the field mice come out to play. Which attracts the owls. I've found owl pellets in the garden.

Hi Fiona, it's a bird app called 'Merlin'. I just let it listen for the bird song and identify the garden birds for me. Lots of people on here use it.

East Coast Scotland, we still have Red Squirrels too.. 😀 abundant garden bird life, and only a couple of hundred yards from the shore so a short walk nets me seabirds as well.
