I’m also not using the correct chords! I’m just repeating the first 4 chords over and over because I’m still learning the full song lol. It’s okay tho you can’t tell since the chords are very similar haha!

Day 16+17

Day 14 and 15

I’ve continued to do pinky strength training. Today I’m focusing on learning a new chord. I’m trying to figure out which position is best. It kinda feels better using all 4 fingers but I understand that using the index for the first two strings is preferred. Idk what do y’all think?

Had a little set back, something personal came up and instead of a 2 day break it had to be 3. Which is fine. Today I didn’t get home until very late but I still practiced for 5 minutes. Feel a little sad cause I started doing progress on my pinky but it’s okay! No harm done! Alls good 💜

Forgot to post day 12! I’m taking today off but yesterday I did something called a spider crawl. A colleague told me about it and sent me videos, hopefully this will help my pinky get strong.

Day 11: Pinky Training

I’ve hit a wall, the next chord I have to learn uses the pinky finger! She’s very weak and I couldn’t do it properly. I’m gonna implement some pinky training after my regular chord progression to strengthen it. So far I’m doing 10-25 sec holds in the first 3 strings.

Also I got used to practicing standing up. It feels so much comfortable now that I fixed my guitar strap! I actually find it uncomfortable to play sitting now! Crazy cause that’s how I started the first 5 days!

Day 10: Repetition

Chord progression will be the death of me but I am eager to get better! Got a capo and I am so happy! I’m also gonna add a different song to my practice… maybe idk. I keep trying to get my hand in the video but I move too much 🙄

Day 9

Almost forgot to post! I had to practice quickly because of chores (yawn!) and couldn’t record. Today I practiced my chord progression and man I wish I recorded because I did back to back near perfect chord progressions!!

Day 8: Muscle Memory

Wanted to have fun so I decided to focus on my picking hand and change chords without looking. It was fun, messed up a few but I wasn’t trying to be perfect just see how well I could do.

Day 7: Chord Progression pt 2

No video today, I don’t want it to get repetitive (I did record something tho). My chord progression is way better than yesterday especially jumping from open chords to F chord. Trust the progress is there!

Day 6: Chord Progression

Getting better at picking without looking and my fingers are now memorizing the positions of the chords. Huge thanks to @guitarchuck.bsky.social, I tightened my guitar strap and it oddly helped!

I’m running into some trouble going from open string to then the F chord as I am trying to keep a steady pace. I know, I need to slow down until I learn it but ahh! I also figured that my amp was slowing me down and needs to be fixed :(

Day 5: Standing vs Sitting

I’m trying to play the song while standing up, it feels more comfortable. It’s fun how standing up vs sitting down is so different. I’m able to strum the guitar easier while sitting down compared to standing, but I’ll get the hang of it. ——>

Day 4: Amp problems

Today is supposed to be my break (fingies hurt, using medical tape). Had downtime so I hooked up my amp and I keep having issues with the 3rd string giving off this horrible noise in my amp.

Anyone know how to fix it? Should I take it to a professional?

I kind of improvised my finger placement, does it look good? My room is cold so my fingers get “stuck” and move slower. Maybe I should practice outside?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Day 4: 3 Chords

I really love this song, my goal is to be able to play it at regular speed! Right now I’m at 60% (55bpm) and I’m doing really good.

So far I’m learning F chord to Dm chord to Am chord! Pretty fun, fingertips burn tho.

I have to confess. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t get that first chord down, watched multiple videos and still couldn’t place my fingers correctly. Thanks to that a comment that said to use a capo, otherwise I would’ve gone back to palm muting practice.

Day 3: Have Fun!

Saw a video explaining how focusing on a fav song makes learning better. So I picked CAS Apocalypse!

Amp settings: Gain 3, Volume 2, Treble 6, Middle 5, Bass 4, and Reverb 3.

Guitar: pickup switch is on the 3rd position, Volume is at 6 (although I accidentally move it while palm muting), Treble and Bass at 4.

Day 2: Palm Muting w/Amp
Focused on only D chord to test out palm muting.
It’s a little tricky since the volume knob is right next to the bridge and I end up moving it on accident. I also wanted to show my fingers bc idk what to do with my pinkie!

How’s the sound while palm muting? Any tips?

Day 1: A & D chords
Tempo was set at 100
I’m trying to transition from D chord to A chord smoothly. Ik the BPM is too fast but I wanted to see if my muscle memory would kick in… it kinda did!

How is my hand placement? I know it sounds rough but bear with me! Tomorrow I’ll try to mute the metronome

Practically none ish, last year I started practicing D to A chord progression but lost motivation. Downloaded a couple of guitar apps but nothing worked.
