And for all the pluripotency enthusiasts out there, I think it will be incredibly exciting to unravel pluripotency gene regulatory networks across as many species as possible!

I hope that one day there will be embryonic stem cells from all species (gotta stay optimistic!). Maybe they might even assist ongoing efforts by the biodiversity and conservation community on species conservation!

Thoroughly enjoyed writing this short journal club article for Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology. Thanks for the invitation, Kim Baumann!
I used this opportunity to highlight again the pioneering work on rhinoceros embryonic stem cells by Hildebrandt et al. (2018).
The preprint of my dear friend Svetlana Jovanic showing that
"cell behaviour during gastrulation is robust to the deficiency of yolk topology & signalling originating from the yolk syncytial layer."
is now online!
Super interesting read! #zebrafish #embroids #DevBio

German news article. Headline translates to "Hostilities against scientists are increasing."
I find this a rather disturbing and worrying trend. π

Our lab members are off to cool new jobs (including faculty π) so we are looking for new team members. Experimental postdoc prioritized, but do get in touch if you think you are a good fit.
Also, our PhD program is currently accepting applications: www.molgen.mpg.de/IMPRS/applic...
Would you mind adding me too, please? π

A comparative deep dive into marmoset and human trophoblast development! 𧬠Congrats to Dylan and Clara on this exciting study, and thanks for having me on board! Check it out here: doi.org/10.1016/j.st...

So is this now the place where all the kind people hang out and discuss cool science?!
Iβll keep my fingers crossed! βΊοΈ
