I have a sort of feeling that Dineen (1860-1934) - despite his amazing efforts - might not have been able to collect every word in the Irish language a century or so ago. Later, Máirtín Ó Cadhain alone collected more than 1.1 million words in his own area of the Connemara Gaeltacht.
