A liberal, not “progressive”, antifascist who detests Trump’s Nutzis & collaborators. Incremental progress brings more good than does losing. Echo chambers lead to more losses. Antisemites, racists, D-bashers and slogan-spouting dimwits may be blocked.

they don’t ever admit error, so we can assume this fetid alliance will stick around.

But Jews should know there are many liberal-progressive gentiles like me who will always support you.

Most stay silent, though, for fear of being ostracized. I won’t. To paraphrase FDR, I welcome their hatred.

The west has swallowed Hamas’ lies hook, line & sinker. Much of the Left has climbed into bed with the religio-fascists of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian government (all of which would kill them the moment they criticize anything) because of their hatred of Israel.

But self-satisfied as they are,

Not just MAGA dimwits, they don’t know any better. But it’s the supposedly decent Republicans, too. There are more of them and so they’re more responsible for the horror.

Believers in Enlightenment values- in philosophy, arts, universal education - need to grasp that religious fundamentalism remains a threat to it all.

They would destroy your freedom if given a chance. Allying with them is a suicide pact.

Hebdo, Bataclan, Bondi, Rushdie, Danish cartoonists say so.

People in purple/red districts don’t nominate & elect moderate Ds and conservative Rs consistently for decades because they really want lefties. There’s no evidence for
that conclusion. To write it off as the result of a conspiracy denies voters’ agency. They are more moderate than you, that’s it.

Ask Republican members of Congress.

your thinking your team only loses because of rigging is exactly why you lose. So sure that you are right and everyone else
would recognize your genius but for imaginary cabals denies agency to more moderate voters and regions, it’s insulting to them.

That’s nonsense. Candidates come up through the ranks - town committee, council, mayor, legislature, Congress. They win their way up & those races aren’t all “fixed.” Voters elect them.
That you don’t agree with the voters doesn’t make their views less legitimate.

Apart from sounding like Trump,

go after the bad guys and pass popular legislation. The difficulty is compounded by a media which by nature only focuses on the fighting.

I don’t have a great solution but if we don’t figure that out after 2026 we’ll be losers in 2028.

While the Democrats do need to investigate/impeach/etc. we need to understand that if that is all the public sees from a D Congress the odds of a 2028 GOP WH win increase.

People will say “see? Just more
political infighting, nothing for me.
It makes no difference.”

It will be difficult to both

who already agree with them.

But a flood of cash by unregulated PACs or others does have a disproportionate effect on races. The pol with the most $ doesn’t always win, but it’s hard for a campaign to beat someone backed by a slew of funders.

That’s what needs to be tackled first.

Their are 2 common beliefs about campaign finance and one is a misread. If you’ve worked on campaigns you know interests (business, unions, whatever) ask candidates questions before deciding to whom to donate.Yes, there are some exceptions but most pols don’t sell themselves. Contributors find pols

The failure to grasp these things - that every opposing position is by definition corrupt - hurts us politically. We can’t find candidates who will win in, say, Idaho, because we in the northeast think “right”
is different.

We need D nominees who can appeal to, not preach to, their areas’ voters.

08.02.2026 01:15 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

People say “why can’t they do what’s right?” But because of
different interests and constituencies they don’t agree
what “right” is.

It’s also seldom the case that candidates change views based on contributions. It’s generally the other way around - donors fund candidates who share their views.

Yes, but I wouldn’t discount the possibility they have their constituents’ support, given Fox-CBS propaganda.

Also, pols are going to support companies that employ lots
of their constituents. People
in other areas may think they’re “bought” but, again, they are reflecting their constituents.

Even a few years ago I would have thought at least some of the so-called "normal" GOP members of Congress would object to all the election-cheating that's in the works.

But, no. They apparently are just fine with it.

The collapse of decency of the national GOP is nauseating.
Collabos from hell.

MAGAt imbeciles don't grasp that this a disincentive for people to file taxes. For matter of that, why would the Gestapo look at tax returns for information on people who their masters think don't contribute anything?

People who say that and “he is not my president” live in a world of delusion.
