i have a medical thing next week, and because i'll be taking a nice, druggy-drugged propofol nap. it's nothing major, but after, i need to be picked up by a person.
explicitly NOT a taxi driver. which would have been my method of choice.
but the

getting a diagnosis, it helps a lot to know why some things are the way they are, lol
i was late diagnosed in my mid-20ies, and it probably, in the long run, saved my life

you can get a first impression by doing an online test from a serious website, a lot of websites (esp. by psychologists) offer free adhd tests,
it can give you a good idea if you have adhd tendencies. and then you can get it checked (and if it's worth looking into)

do you have adhd perchance?
i've no experience with melatonin, but we often react paradoxically to stimulants (caffeine for example) so maybe taking "calming" things makes your sleep go all haywire

if you do have adhd, try having black tea or a coffee for bed instead, usually helps me sleep
