Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

US senators poised to reject Trump’s proposed massive science cuts Committee gives first hint that policymakers might preserve, rather than slash, funding for US National Science Foundation and other agencies.

A key US Senate committee has indicated that it will reject the huge budget cuts that President Donald Trump proposed for some science agencies, including the US National Science Foundation and NASA.

$20,000 rav1d AV1 Decoder Performance Bounty In March of 2023 we announced that we were starting work on a safer high performance AV1 decoder called rav1d, written in Rust. We partnered with Immunant to do the engineering work. By September of 2...

We created a safer AV1 decoder, rav1d, by forking the dav1d decoder and rewriting the C code in Rust. It works great except our Rust is 5% slower than the C. We're not sure why so we're offering a $20k bounty to figure it out and make the Rust code faster. www.memorysafety.org/blog/rav1d-p...

the fact of the matter is some people do not want to see black people in media and we all need to ignore them and continue to make black art because at the end of the day, they were never going to buy or support it either way.

This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode the deficit.

3) Demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

They're trying to get away with it again.

Respondents emphasize that Abrego Garcia was improperly removed to El Sal-
vador because, although he could be removed anywhere else in the world under a
2019 order of removal, that order granted statutory withholding of removal to El Sal-
vador alone. But, while the United States concedes that removal to El Salvador was
an administrative error, see App., infra, 60a, that does not license district courts to
seize control over foreign relations, treat the Executive Branch as a subordinate dip-
lomat, and demand that the United States let a member of a foreign terrorist organ-
ization into America tonight. For starters, because MS-13 members such as Abrego
Garcia have since been designated members of a foreign terrorist organization, they
are no longer eligible for withholding of removal under 8 U.S.C. 1231(b)(3)(B). Fur-
ther, the United States has ensured that aliens removed to CECOT in El Salvador
will not be tortured, and it would not have removed any alien to El Salvador for such
detention if doing so would violate its obligations under the Convention Against Tor-
ture. Moreover, respondents treat the relief here as β€œroutine,” Resp. C.A. Stay
Opp. 1, but that relief goes far beyond merely facilitating an alien’s return, which is
what courts have ordered in other cases. This orderβ€”and its demand to accomplish
sensitive foreign negotiations post-haste, and effectuate Abrego Garcia’s return to-
nightβ€”is unprecedented and indefensible.

If the Supreme Court decides that the government can "erroneously" disappear you off the street to a foreign torture prison, and that federal courts have no power to do anything about it, that is, in a meaningful way, Pretty Much It www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24...

One of the many downsides of the Democratic leadership being primarily composed of septua- and octogenarians is that it’s really hard to get them to consider a victory condition that doesn’t amount to β€œwe go back to our normal schedule and people stop yelling at me.”

Guess who that group included? Proud Boys, armed militias, and at one event in Idaho, a guy dressed as Hitler.

"OMG there's no plan."
