100% -- The amount of ovarian CSCs and tumor cells from the CSCs that were removed by 161Tb-DOTA-chCE7 in vivo. Its high cytotoxicity demonstrates a significant step toward translating 161Tb into clinical use.

L1CAM+/CD133+ were the CSC-associated biomarkers researchers targeted with radiolabeled immunoconjugates 177Lu or 161Tb. The cytotoxicity of 177Lu-DOTA-chCE7 and 161Tb-DOTA-chCE7 was measured by cell proliferation assays in vitro and xenografted mouse models in vivo.

Radioimmunotherapy enables precise target-specific delivery to cancer-associated antigens, increasing tumor retention and irradiation while minimizing off-target accumulation. This study sought to investigate the radionuclide terbium-161 (161Tb) for eradicating CSCs.

But there was also a secondary finding. The study also found that regions outside of the brain can be used to measure radiotracer binding in the brain.

This could be applied to other radiotracers used for PET brain imaging in the future.

Naloxone reduced MOR availability by 40-50% in brain regions with a greater reduction in women than men. There was less variance in the descending aorta region than the extremity muscles, but both showed the blocking effects of naloxone.

This study used whole-body PET to give researchers a better understanding of how opioid drugs interact with MORs. 6 female and 7 male healthy subjects underwent two 11C-carfentanil whole-body PET scans: one at baseline, and one immediately after pretreatment with naloxone.

The µ-opioid receptor (MOR) is the target of opioid drugs like fentanyl and heroin, but it is also the target for opioid antagonist treatments like naloxone.

The opioid epidemic has been a significant public health issue, but data from the last year shows a promising turnaround. In 2024, opioid deaths in the United States decreased 33% over 2023 – and drug overdoses were at their lowest since 2019.*

A new study using whole-body PET to assess naloxone’s (also known as Narcan) binding to opioid receptors suggests that men and women respond differently to opioid use disorder treatments.

Abnormal cardiopulmonary PET/MR should be considered a risk factor for future cardiac & pulmonary disease. Patients with these scan abnormalities should be monitored closely. Providers need to attain a patient history that includes previous COVID infections & long COVID symptoms.
