Well, #ComicCon takes over downtown San Diego for the next 4 days. Taking the kids the next couple days. If you've never been, it's quite a scene. I'm not a comic-book fan, but the people watching is pretty fun. Year's ago, I did a video showing what it's like.

Question for anyone who knows about things like this - I was given an original #StarTrek series script - it was the make up artist's final draft from 1967. I'm not a ST fan, so looking to sell & talking to an auction house. Anything I should know before moving too far?

The wife's going out of town next week, so I got a few hours to myself today for all the kid duty I'll have next week. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to see how the final chapter of this franchise wraps up...or until some creative deficient Hollywood exec decides to reboot it that is.

You know what I miss when going the movie? The THX promo...it was so simple and elegant, and made me more excited for whatever was coming after it.

Sundance Moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2027 The Sundance Film Festival will relocate to Boulder, ending a decades-long run in Park City.

Hard to believe it's happening - part of what makes
Sundance so special is Park City. But...the times they are a changing. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but I guess it's time to get to know Boulder.

For many of us in the production world, work has been less than robust over the past year or two. So it makes being on set even more special these days. Happy to have 3 days out on location for my company 100 Acre Films. Now...time to start editing!

Yeah, the zero signings was odd - especially with the injuries we had. And what a bust Sterling turned out to be. I'd hoped he had a little something left to give - not so much. I mean...it's not impossible to win this year, but it'd be some kinda miracle.

Yeah, that could be the end of our title chance. Ugh....

Thanks to all who responded to my post yesterday about cutting a trailer. You all gave me some great advice - really appreciate it. Sent first cut over to the director today, and got this back - "Wow!! Love it!" with just one small note. Guess I did okay. :)

Yes, done a ton of sizzle reels, so that's helpful. It feels like trailer creation is it's own mysterious artform...or maybe I'm just overthinking it. Thanks, Chris!

Fellow editors - just finished editing a short film, and the director asked me to cut a trailer for it. I've actually never cut a trailer - not even for my own shorts. No judgement, please! :) Any advice on cutting a good trailer, more specifically, one for a short film? #postchat

I remember that time period! I had the same experience. Everyone wanted that song...it was like some massive collusion to drive me crazy.

That's it. "More upbeat" tells me very little about what you're looking for, especially when the track IS an "upbeat" track.

I do that as well - I create a playlist and ask them to pick something.

Yup...never mind the hours I spent timing out the edits to the music, playing with order and structure to find that right balance...just something more upbeat and how soon can a new version be posted.
