To me taking action is confronting people's incorrect beliefs, challenging the incorrect facts or data. To me ostracizing them is literally inaction... Just ignoring them. That seems much more dangerous to me. Am I misunderstanding your position?

The difference here is that a brick wall is incapable whereas the idiots are unwilling. One can be changed, the other cannot.
