Happy for the selection. No idea if it is good or not though.

Depends on who’s there and how FA goes. If a top tier talent falls, the just pick. If not, trade back. Most years someone falls unexpectedly and we can’t afford to pass up talent.

Kind of interesting to watch all the irrational arguments. I get those in that townhome development resisting, but all the misinformation just gets wilder by the day.

In all honesty, despite being a fan for 40 years and a decades long season ticket holder I have never thought any owner prioritizes winning more than marketing & money. In fact, I don’t think players do either. It is lip service only.

Money making business. Anyone that ever thinks any of these teams have a higher goal than making money outside the small window post ownership change are deluding themselves.

Agree. Mafah is the superior talent. He also has a far better track record of consistent production.

I know this is unpopular, but I would cut Luepke. There’s nothing he does that one of the TE’s can’t do.

I may be incorrect, but couldn’t they pull a trick from Howie’s arsenal and use the Franchise/Transition Tag on him after this year? Then, if he gets an offer we can’t match and leaves we get 2 first round picks. If we do match it is all good and life goes on.

Oh my goodness. 2 first downs and only 37 total yards of offense after a half + 1 series. I get it is pre-season but this team is bad and is going to be bad

It’s going to be a long rough season for the Dallas Cowboys. Luckily the game day experience is still fun!

Terrible start on both sides of the ball…with various starters in the game. Sigh.

I would have put a solid but team friendly on the table in Summer 24 and if his side didn’t sign traded him for a haul at this past draft. He’s a great talent. But this team needs more of everything and Micah isn’t going to cover that up.

No owners like dealing with agents. No employers like dealing with unions. Jerry’s just old enough to speak more freely than most as he knows in the end it just doesn’t matter. He has the money. Everyone else is wanting some of it. Pretty simple.

Different definitions:

City: defined by a legal boundary
Urban Area: defined as a geographical area of continuous development with strong economic ties to each other

Chicago=City; Chicagoland=Urban Area

This is a transparent, well-worn DC play. Put Democrats in a political box by forcing them to choose between voting against an antisemitism resolution so Republicans can slam them as being antisemitic and anti-Israel — or voting for the resolution, so they can hit the Party for being divided and chaotic.

It’s political theater, designed for bad-faith attack ads and Fox News clips.

The article is really good and gives more context. Half of the bill condemns the attack on the Jewish people in Boulder, then the other half is MAGA porn.

We must add a final, unfortunate note: The written and
oral advocacy on behalf of plaintiffs has been poor.
“The brief is the single most important means for advancing a litigant’s interests on appeal.” ATTORNEY’S GUIDE TO THE
SEVENTH CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEALS (5th ed.), ch. 12 at 3. “The
appellant’s brief must contain an argument section that states
the appellant’s contentions and the reasons for them, with citations to the authorities and parts of the record on which the
appellant relies.” Id. at 27. Plaintiffs’ briefs fall far short of this
standard. They include lengthy explications of marginally relevant and irrelevant case law, and minimal analysis of this
case. Plaintiffs’ briefs do not advance their interests, which are
not insubstantial. Lukaszczyk, 47 F.4th at 607.
As noted above, the “reply brief may not raise for the first
time issues that were not asserted in the appellant’s initial

law on this point stretches back at least fifty years. See
Christmas, 759 F.2d at 1291. Yet this basic point of appellate
procedure has not been followed, to plaintiffs’ obvious detriment.
Plaintiffs’ confused briefs are of a piece with a baffling
statement of plaintiffs’ counsel at oral argument. First, he admitted the phrase “as applied” was not used in plaintiffs’
opening brief. Oral Arg. at 10:48–10:55. Then, on rebuttal he
reversed and contended that brief actually included “as applied” when it stated the policy “was not neutrally applied.”
To him, “was” could be read like “as,” and two words later
“applied” was used. Oral Arg. at 25:45–26:51. But the phrase
in his opening brief—“was not neutrally applied”—was
speaking to the level of scrutiny for a court’s assessment of
constitutionality, see Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, 141 S. Ct.
1868, 1877 (2021), not a challenge to the policy’s application in
a certain manner or context.
We have chosen not to issue an order to show cause why
plaintiffs’ counsel should not face some sanction for these errors and deficiencies. Rather, they are described in this published decision with the hope that plaintiffs’ counsel, and all
attorneys who read this opinion, will present their very best
work in our court, and all courts, to avoid the obvious and
correctable shortcomings in the written and oral advocacy
here.

America won’t be destroyed by immigrants or protests.

The party that claims to be the party of Lincoln is now leading the charge to destroy the very freedoms he fought for.
