28.05.2025 08:40 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A band 7 nurse earns more than a resident doctor until they have worked at least 4 years. If you look at “unsocial”hourly rates it’s even worse.
28.05.2025 08:39 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0@thetimes.com Edwina Currie needs to get her facts right on resident doctor pay. She says they are paid less than nurses, actually not true. There are nurses who are paid more than doctors (not all). PAs also paid more than many doctors. Most patients will see resident Drs when in hospital. @bma

Today a lazy breakfast with mum, a long walk, coffee then finished a great book with a slice of Christmas cake. Catching up on TV tonight with cold turkey and chutney. Lovely Boxing Day!

Hello everyone from this battlescarred doc from the other place. For those who don't know me, I'm an author, journalist & and palliative care doctor who stands up for patients, evidence & candour in healthcare & politics alike. I love books, otters & other people - who are, fundamentally, good 💚
