Shae would be a Steel gym leader. He's the "knight in shining armor" archetype, living on pure thrill and instinct. He's not the most scholarly, but he made his whole life's purpose the protection of his loved ones (and the Star). Therefore, he has a lot of "Knight" pokemon.

When the latter dies in EW, she commits suicide, leaving behind a infant girl who is then found in the Tower of Babil and adopted by the scions.
