Disabled DV Survivor. I do stuff about the atrocities happening in world, in irl, but this is where I come to talk nonsense about things that make me happy to restock my spoons. Trans Rights are Human Rights. No to military industrial complex. No to war.

09.03.2026 06:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I agree - the thing that made me stay and become a citizen (originally on 2yr visa) in the 1st place is that because of its vastness there was a greater chance of finding my people. The various communities Iβve found are kind, funny, thoughtful. But the things being done in our name are disgusting

08.03.2026 19:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm so ashamed to be an American citizen right now. So far away from when I was naturalized after years of slog and cost, I chose to be American, I was so unbelievably proud (and Iβve been here 16 years so I knew it faults as well strengths). Absolutely disgusted in the destruction and deaths.

Enjoyed watching The Running Man, a searing satire about the risks of inequality, the merging of public and private power, and corporate consolidation that blends entertainment with news.
Brought to you by the Ellison family: owners of Paramount, HBO, CBS, TikTok, MTV etc. and soon Warner and CNN.
We think weβre not being told the truth nowβ¦ this would, ok I donβt actually have words for how bad this would be for the American public knowing whatβs happening in the world etc

07.03.2026 07:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve actually been shocked watching the BBC news channel how little I knew about the VAST numbers of people that have been displaced in Lebanon because the Israeli government are telling them to get out of Southern border areas, presumably before a land grab
07.03.2026 07:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you. I have a similar sized knitted teddy bear that Iβve had over over 50 years and I also know how much my kids liked little things, especially Polly Pocket, so if the kids have had to get out quick and maybe not able to take much, these are pocket pals that I hope will help a little.
07.03.2026 07:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All the yarn is given to me from fellow crocheters and knitters when they do projects and get to the last little bits that they donβt know what to do with - and any bits that are too short to use in a teddy, I use to stuff them. The fact that thereβs no waste also makes me happy.

A small crocheted pale green teddy bear, adult palm sized, with pale blue ears and a yellow muzzle, in a patterned sweater in lavender, purple, red and white.
A crocheted neon pink dog, 2 palms size, with yellow floppy ears, a light blue muzzle and a multicoloured sweater
Everything is shit and feels hopeless *breathe* β¦.. but Iβve been making little teddy bears for a non-profit that helps people escape DV, just in case the kids (43,000+ last year) need a little comfort pal. And they make me smile, so just in case they make you smile too:
07.03.2026 06:54 β π 24 π 1 π¬ 5 π 0The difference between the news the British public are getting about the war compared to Americans is absolutely astounding.
