I've only been back home in Seattle since 2017, but this dynamic has been so overwhelming. Maddening! I think facilitated in part because at some point Durkan got so annoyed she basically stopped governing. Or that's how it felt anyway, made Harrell's claim to represent change more credible.

One of the few things the Abundance people are straightforwardly right about is that progressives need to stand up for their values and demonstrate their worth.

Wilson should be *extremely* aggressive in making the city better. Win the next election on outcomes, not process.

Seattle has had a series of mayors who got elected promising to “finally” use police to crack down on homelessness — the existing policy that every previous mayor has deployed.

Once they get into office they don’t deliver because it doesn’t work. We waste four years and the problem gets worse.
